Before you pass out from the shock, she may have also been admiring your attire, hairstyle, the colour of your shoes or staring off into space.
Unless she followed you down the street and propositioned you I'd say it's safe to take whatever it was as a compliment.

She was probably looking at her own reflection.

Her reflection must have been following my head and face as I was passing by. My shoes were not visible to her, although I was wearing brand new shoes that I had just got that day. My attire is not on my face. I don't have hair to style. I didn't polish my head that day either so no reflection there.

She was checking out the Mercedes that drove by behind you.

By shocked do you mean "horrified at the effrontery" or were you just quite surprised?
