Moving on

I moved across the country and told you it was over. We had a great story but it didn't work out. I don't want you to wait for me or hold on to the past. I know you miss me and can't believe it's over... but it is. I told you it couldn't work between us because of the distance, resentment and various issues we had. I gave you the opportunity to be with me, and you didn't take it. You wanted to be single even though I told you I might not be available when you return to me. You took a chance but I met someone new. I have a new life. I'm happy. The longer we are appart, the more clearly it appears to me that although I did love you, we cannot resolve our differences. Life is short, I want to focus on the present--not thinking about the past. There are many great things and people for you to meet and discover. Variety is the spice of life. I wish you a fulfilling and interesting future like you deserve. I'm peaceful now, and hope the same for you.

If you've moved on, why are you still writing about it? Go enjoy life with your new special someone! If it was once a meaningful relationship to the other person, they probably wish you well too! Although living in the present is critical, acknowledging the past and visualizing the future is sometimes unavoidable. Your past is what has shaped you to become who you are today. A shame you couldn't resolve your differences but hopefully this person influenced you to become a better person in some way!
