Women putting makeup on

When women apply makeup on Skytrain and the bus, it's like a car crash: I can't look away because it's so ghastly. The women may think they are unattractive without their "war paint" and will slather it on publicly. Personally, someone preening in public like that with mirror in hand is way more unattractive than a makeup-free face.

I'm glad you let women know how they should act

I mean, of course the only reason a woman would wear makeup would be to make YOU think they're attractive.

I don't care if you find me attractive or not. With or without makeup.

Have some sympathy

Make-up is part of the required dress code for some jobs. Back in the day, a certain Canadian airline mandated that lipstick be a certain colour for all flight attendants.

Some people find it sexy seeing a woman put make up on.

People say this..but reality is different

Guys say this all the time. Yet, when everyone is out in public, who do guys hit on? The girls who are all dressed up and wearing makeup. So, even if you say this is a preference, you're probably one of those guys that hits on (or pines after) the girls who are wearing makeup. I rarely see guys hitting on girls who are dressed down and wearing no makeup.

It's not the makeup, I don't think

It's the doing it in public. Should we shave in public? Brush our teeth? Apply anti-jock itch powder?

None of that would be illegal, except maybe the jock itch powder, but it might make people uncomfortable and more importantly, it would let people know that I don't manage my time very well.

Applying a bit of blush or lipstick on a skytrain is way more practical and less messy than brushing your teeth or shaving. Give me a break, that's a terrible example! Let people do what they want. Vancouverites are so uptight, sheesh!
