Just saw a guy throw his newspaper back at the metro newspaper distributor a second after taking it from him. If you don't want to take the newspaper then politely decline and move on. Theres no need to be rude.

those guys are always in the way. they are the ones who should show more respect.

In the way? are you addled? They just stand there, ask if you want a paper, if you say no they don't force one on you---at least not on me, maybe I have superior body language skills?
