I may not like vegan rights activists

But I definitely support protectors of the forest. Beef production at a cost of the rain forest should not be an option, if it puts the rain forest at risk. ie. Brazil. But my opinion about the chicken factory on Hastings does not necessarily involve rain forest, as we're in a concrete jungle already. Unless you are willing to turn that plot of land into rain forest, I'll never agree with you that I should not eat chicken from that land. People need to eat meat, and it's enjoyable. Period. :D smiley face.

Don't get it

These people don't seem to realize that agriculture, what they want everyone to subsist on, is the problem.

West Coast first nations had no agriculture, had a mostly steady-state society for thousands of years.

So in a postcolonial vein, I think it's pretty darned ridiculous that people should make categorical western-style arguments about eating meat. Who is some philosophy major to tell an Indian he ought not eat meat?
