When I see this kind of post my first reaction is to sympathize with the guy posting .... after all we all have our 'horror stories' of awful dates and the um, divergent personality types we have met (and yes there is a lot of untreated mental illness out there).

However - whilst I'm not a local and dont date in Vancouver, I do have a few great friends up there and they are mainly female so I do feel qualified to comment. Any one of them would make great dates and partners (heck, I'd be dating them myself if I wasn't married, one of them particularly).

So then I come to think about what your expectations of your date are - do you select solely on looks or chase a particular 'type'. Be open, be accepting and don't expect her to fall inline with your needs and wants immediately (or ever actually) ....

God knows if I was single again I'd be spending a lot more time in Vancouver not just my once yearly visits ;)

you need to try being less shallow. this city is full of amazing women who aren't models. but men are shallow or gay. How about that for a polarizing categorization.
