Company functions
posted July 24th, 2017 at 10:19 AM
I really don't want to attend company functions nor do I want to hang around with my coworkers outside of my work schedule.
I honestly feel uncomfortable in such settings and especially being around with people who are fake and with negative intentions. My personal time should be my personal time to live my personal life not my employer's.....

Want your soul.
They want to make you suck they're ass without paying you.
Leadership in north America isn't leadership, its psychopathy.
Treat people poorly and get promoted.
They are looking for heartlessness.
So give them real, true heartlessness.

The weekend is 48 hours for me to do everything I couldn't do during the work week: my favourite hobbies, seeing friends, shopping, cleaning my home, a beach trip, spending time with my aging parents and family, etc. THE LAST people I want to waste minutes or hours with is coworkers ESPECIALLY in the summer. I cringe and decline when coworkers want to do a picnic or brunch. I've got a 48 hour weekend pass and I'm gonna maximize it before I'm confined to the office for 5 days again!
Also 100% with you!

Even when invited to a company paid for dinner, I'd rather decline and have dinner with my actual friends.
Totally agree

I'm glad my coworkers don't feel this way. Company functions are one thing, but it's hard to meet kind, interesting, funny people and my work has a whole bunch. Soon to be a whole brunch. ;)

All they want to do is gossip and pry into your private life.

100% yes! And then you're made to feel guilty that you are not attending and you need to have a good, valid reason to not attend. The only time I volunteer is when it's on company time and I'm still getting paid to do it.
