I agree but its not going to happen. People need to understand once and for all, there are 2 Americas.
The Trump half of America thinks Democrats and left leaning people in general are the single greatest existential threat there is. They see themselves as the ruling class or "real America" and they decided to go to war , politically, against the "other" (anybody who isn't white, Christian, conservative or, at least, Libertarian like the Republican donor class). And you know what's really terrifying? They see Putin as a hero and defender of "Western Civilization" and "traditional values," so Russian influence in the election is actually a good thing to them. Right-wingers are smart and tenacious. They plan long-term. Gerrymandering, voter suppression and structural advantages will make sure that they don't "go down in flames."
Worst of all, there is a divided left. Trump supporters get out and vote like soldiers on the march. People on the left just don't vote in large enough numbers. They prefer to put on Che Guevara T-shirts and protest with their stupid little friends. And, they sabotage the resistance with purity tests about who is ideologically pure enough, and who is a "corporate sellout" blah, blah, blah.
Sorry to tell you this OP, but Trump and his cronies aren't going anywhere. There's a good chance he's going to get re-elected.

Unless you have your eyes closed, the democratic politicians aren't much better with their corruption, Wall Street ties, war hawkishness, etc. They're just using the Trump administration's unpopularity to justify keeping the status quo when obviously they should have changed their ways when Hillary Clinton lost.

Stopped consuming the news partly because of these people . It's been glorious and the world is a much nicer place after a couple months in.
