To film or not to film

I never film the concerts that I attend, but I am so grateful for the fans who do. There are shows I've been to that I would not have gone to otherwise if not for fan footage. Sorry for taking and not giving back!

People that film concerts with their phones are assholes for the rest of the audience!

Not To Film

Bands hate hearing crappy compressed internet phone videos of themselves, they spend a lot of time recording records that sound good. This is not doing them a favour. Only you.

Limited usage of a cell phone at concerts is acceptable. If you want to film a song or two...go for it, but don't be holding your phone over your head for 40 minutes. That's rude. I have figured out how to film songs and not bother anyone. Being a 6ft tall dude I got some height on a lot of you. I hold my phone chest height and film the songs I want. I don't even look at the screen as my eyes are on the stage. Using my peripherals to adjust where I'm filming (sometimes I forget to press record and I find a picture in my album lol). The sound...Fucking phenomenal. You should hear my long recordings of Black Sabbath's The End tour! Absolutely amazing quality from a phone. I have great footage of a bunch of concerts that's for sure!

Here's the problem with filming stuff: You are not enjoying the show...you're freaking working as a cinematographer.

I have a strict policy when im on stage. No phones in the audience. Disclaimer on the ticket say you will be removed without warning if you record my shows. I pay a professional to capture the night that you can view for free on my website

Its rude beyond words to film at shows.

For all you backpackers that refuse to take off your backpacks, citing safety reasons and whatnot, FINE. But at least have the decency to ensure your dam backpack isn't in the face of someone who is seated next to the aisle.

I used to take pictures at shows and I wish I never had. I didn't realize how rude and disruptive I was being at the time.
