Goodbye Vancouver rent, hello bylaw officers

So it seems like most of you have a problem with cyclists and dog owners. Do you also dislike people living out of vans/rvs? 'Cus if so, we might have a hard time being friends.

My friend lived in his van to save money. He would come to my house and ask my roommates to let him have showers when I wasn't home. He basically became something of a parasite.

People living in vehicles is the 21st century equivalent of riding the rails.
It's so fucking sad it's pure evil.

I hear ya OP!
I will probably be living out of a van at some point myself.
Why waste LOTS of $ on over-priced rent, when you can live in a van and use the showers at community centres?!

You just have a shitty friend. I'll be using the community gyms. Staying healthy, keeping clean.
I would...

... love to live in a van, but I don't know how to drive :(
Live in a van + Y membership = awesome!

He and the van really stank too.
Remind me not to go to the community gym.

What do you say when a girl wants to stay over at "your place" and has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night??
Have a good winter, if it's like the last one....

I used to live in an empty schoolbus in the woods for a summer.
down by the river..

living in a van? really?
It could be a fun summer.. but try it in the winter..
van living I think would get old pretty fast.. like I said, good for a summer, but what are you going to live in your van for 20 years? as a couple? not a lot of privacy or space.. using gym showers for years?
an RV would be better.. best would be a double wide, build a deck off the side, have a nice garden.. all the the above aren't built very well though..
Personally if I was hard up, I would go for a quality sailboat, fix it up to live in.. 30 foot or so..

You might think I'm trashy and classless because I live fulltime in my RV. But I own my own home, I have pets, and I live comfortably in Metro Vancouver; can you say the same??
