... it's sort of different if you're in the class paying 30%+ of your income in taxation for these things, which could all be done without government. There is absolutely no reason that we couldn't have private cities w/ their own watersystems, schools, etc.

The reason we don't is mostly due to the fact that for them to have "police officers," they need a grant from the state, and that is one thing that would be expensive to do w/o the blanket indemnity in the police act.

I like how someone rejects the idea of entitlement, and you equate entitlement to having city streets that we all pay into.

Perhaps entitlement is someone who thinks they should be able to work part-time, get a high wage, and contribute little to their company's longevity.
