Sometimes I'm embarrassed to be a lesbian. It's embarrassing that because I do my hair, wear clothes that fit and generally take pride in my appearance, people think I must be straight - yet, I understand why they do. While I'm not butch nor am I attracted to them, Rachel Maddow is a perfect example of the butch style done right. Ladies, you can rock the butch look without walking around looking like you should be on an episode of What Not to Wear. In short: Your jeans should not be four sizes too big, hockey jerseys belong on the ice, and crew cuts look good on nobody!

you should not be embarrassed to be a lesbian you should be embarrassed for being an idiot. grow the f**k up and mind your own business. women should not be picking on other women's styles. there are more important things to worry about. oy!

people are superficial
As long as you like how you look and feel good in your clothes that is what matters. Who we sleep with shouldn't limit what we wear that's such an absurd assumption. I'm straight but I totally don't always look the part, and I'm not apologetic either. Why should I be prancing around in full makeup, dresses, and long nails just to prove which team I play for?

I totally get what you're saying...they just look sloppy, and it's so unattractive. It seems to be a lesbian phenomenon as well. It's not idiotic, it's a fact lol. If you guys were in the lesbian community you would understand what she's writing about. Women who look like John Goodman are not super appealing, but that's my opinion. :)

Don't be embarrassed at all! I'm a girl who is bisexual, not bi-curious but full out bisexual and im to embarrassed to tell my friends or family. I respect you for being who you are. there shouldnt be a stereotype for a lesbian. people are just being who they are, and dressing the way they feel sexy. If you like wearing jeans and baggy sweatshirts then do it up! you are beauitful and if you do your hair and wear nice clothes then thats awesome, wear your clothes, dont let them wear you. Be yourself
