There is a woman in my office who laughs hysterically every time someone speaks - why is it that people with the most annoying laugh do it all the f*n time? Once you notice it starts to grind away at your brain all mother lovin' day!

I can relate as I have a wonderful friend who has a VERY loud, long contagious laugh. She is known for it. The only problem is that she will look at strangers, away, then back again in such a way it appears she is laughing at them. It is very uncomfortable at times for all of us except her.

I used to have a rookie like this. It drove me CRAZY!
"How was your day"
"Oh ya know, OK"
"HAHAHAHAHA"
I noticed that me and my other room mate started to play down our conversation with her and give half hearted answers as to prevent an explosive laugh. We even avoided watching any comedy on TV whilst she was home as this was often excruciating!!
Sometimes we'd physically flinch when she started laughing. I have no idea how she didn't notice.

When laughs turn to cries, hey? I think most people have encountered that, unfortunately when you are in a situation where you can't avoid it, it becomes disruptive. There are worse things, I worked with one woman who was not allergic to scent, but didn't like it, so she harrased everyone in the office. One of our articling students at the time, sat in her office with door shut for her entire 4 month stay, just to avoid this office bully. And this office bully would microwave popcorn almost each day and not offer anyone any but inundate them with this smell, and that apparently was okay!
