My boyfriend

He annoys the hell out of me but is so fragile if I broke up with him I don't even know what he would do. He is clingy and needy and never shuts up. Some silence would be golden. Him at his place would be amazing. Just not being near me and yapping and tuning down the music to say nothing but annoying shit while I'm escaping into my own world would be nice!

I know exactly how you feel but I'd be talking about my wife. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Break up with him. Gently of course. Or maybe suggest to go on a temporary break. Just TALK to him. Let him know that you need your space, and if you still want to be with him, maybe work something out where you only see each other a couple times a week. But if he truly annoys the hell out of you, just break up. It's not fair to him or to you if you stay together because you feel sorry for him.

it can't be any better for his self esteem for you to stay around him when you so obviously don't like him. dump him and let him find someone who likes him or let him figure out why he behaves this way...

Most guys are like this early on. I've been like this when I was quite young, in my first relationship. You need to break up with him. It's the only way he can learn to be a bit less needy. My gf at the time didn't break up with me, but totally should've. Eventually I learned to be less of a baby, and he will too if you do the right thing. He'll live, he'll just go into a funk about it for 6 months.

I was once in the same situation as you. If you know it won't work break it off. It's terrible to hurt someone but it will be better in the long run. You both need to be happy. Good luck!

I had friends like this. So you tell them to break up with the person and then they give you ten reasons why they shouldn't. It goes round and round and round....now I just divert conversations away from those similar to this confession. People will do what they do and put up with what they put up with for whatever serves the purpose at the time and a well meant piece of advice gets the shelf. No disrespect to the poster but the confession itself is like the poster is providing the appropriate solutions to their own problem.
