I am SO sick of living below THE LOUDEST FUCKING FAMILY IN THE HISTORY OF LIFE. Fuck you and your hardwood floors that make every single noise one that either keeps me up or wakes me up. Not once have I ever heard you tell your children not to scream and run and jump at six and seven in the morning. This place isn't worth the high rent or the high stress of listening to this shit.

I hate that too! I haven't lived in a basement suite for some time, and that's why... people are insensitive and self-centred. It's not that they don't care - they don't even consider they'r actions in the first place.

Sounds like you moved into my old place. I suggest moving. And hopefully you learned a lesson, and will ask about kids before going to check out another place.

If the people upstairs aren't the owners have the landlord talk to them. Come to think of it - have you ever told them how loud it can be and ask them to ask their kids to not jump around that early? They may not even know how loud it is.
That said -- I feel your pain -- I have a grown couple above me that makes that kind of noise well into the night -- for now -- they got evicted for the noise -- it can happen..... hang in there and I wish you rest and quiet

Unfortunately, it's my landlords who live above me (so broaching the subject just seems out of the question, since they never respond to any of my requests to fix things wrong in the suite), and thankfully I will be moving soon! :) ...though I do like the trumpet idea!

unfortunately it sounds as though as you are paying your rent you are also paying their mortgage. this situation is most difficult and disagreeable. i think the only option for you is to find another place to live and give your notice. you can't continue to live with this. you are not getting peace and quiet. being sleep deprived affects everything. picture where you would rather be. find out more about the next place so you won't be repeating history. you can do it.
