Hey don't feel bad. Age is nothing but a number. But I like 2 men--one who is 32, and another who is 40. I am 20...kind of in a bigger conundrum than you...

If this were a 40 year old man & he said he fell in love with a 22 year old women, well you know the comments would be different.

i think at 22 you're old enough to make decisions that work for you.. if you're uncomfortable with being with someone older than..even if you love him.. then by all means deny yourself what could have been the love of your life..

I dated a 41year-old woman when I was 21 and it was a beautiful thing. I thought I was in love but looking back I didn't know how to love with my heart yet. We looked at it for what it was: novel, passionate, learning, but not forever. She moved away because of business reasons and that's where we parted but we stayed in touch over the years. I'm no longer the young man I was then but that experience is part of who I am 20 years later. We saw each other recently and although she's over 60 now she still makes my heart skip a beat. She held my arm as we walked along Kits Beach and watched the sun set. Nothing happened other than letting me kiss her at the airport the next day. I don't regret seeing someone older. I still respect her today and it was a great experience.

If this was written by a guy, there could be a variety of other sexual orientation issues involved, such as coming out (including possibly seeking a "mentor' or guidance), overcoming years of living in the closet or repression, seeking emotional stability from a more mature partner, etc.
