I've just been informed that I need either a root canal (which I can't afford) or to get one of my teeth extracted. I don't have a meal ticket or wealthy parents, and I'm paranoid of losing my teeth one at a time. I've taken the best care of them that I can, but have shitty genetics. I'm only in my twenties, and am too embarrassed to tell anyone I know. Fuck, my life sucks.

Yeah, dental work is a bummer. Maybe you could look into getting it done at the UBC dental clinic. That would probably be cheaper than anywhere else.

You could be a starving kid in Africa with no clean water and a swollen belly from malnutrition. Be glad all you have is teeth problems...

I'm in a similar situation, and it was one of the factors as to why I'm pushing myself to go back to school - I couldn't afford dental and I don't have a medical plan, but now I will as of next week, and I'm stoked on having wisdom teeth taken out, fillings done up, etc.

Yes, your life does suck. And once you lose all your teeth, sucking is all you'll be doing. Good luck making it to your thirties, snaggletooth.
