Awake Vancouver

Enter to win tickets to the Awake Vancouver benefit concert!

Healing is perhaps the most important work we have to do in this life. This year on World AIDS day, December 1st, 2009, Awake Vancouver will take place to make a healing difference in the lives of Canada's Aboriginal people.

Healing Our Spirit (www.healingourspirit.org) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving British Columbia's Aboriginal populations affected by HIV/AIDS. Offering support for people living with HIV/AIDS, a meal program and counselling to deal with the after effects of residential schools, they are committed workers in the healing of Canada's First Nations people.

This year they are teaming up with The Restoration Project, a Seventh-Day Adventist faith community to hold a fundraiser/benefit concert on World AIDS Day. The goal is simple: to raise money for Healing Our Spirit to open it's own hospice/palliative care facility to provide culturally appropriate end of life care for BC's Aboriginal people. A place where people can die with dignity, surrounded by their families and traditional singing and smudging, returning to them all the things which have been taken from them for too long.

Together we can make a difference in the lives of Canada's Aboriginal people. Together we can raise awareness and money in the fight against AIDS. Together we can heal. Please join in Awake Vancouver on December 1st, 2009 and join your voice to the chorus of people who are chanting for change.
