WordsConnect BC Book & Magazine Week

Enter to win a prize pack of BC books and magazines.

The eighth annual BC Book & Magazine Week (April 18 -25, 2009) is a literary celebration coordinated by the Association of Book Publishers of BC (ABPBC) and the BC Association of Magazine Publishers (BCAMP). Events will happen at locations around BC including Vancouver, Chilliwack, West Vancouver, North Vancouver, Victoria, Qualicum Beach, Kelowna, Prince George, and more. Most events are free!

The week-long literary celebration was founded in January 1999 as BC Book Week, and in 2001 the event expanded to include the province’s magazine industry. Its mandate is to increase awareness amongst British Columbians of the importance of the local publishing industry, and to contribute to increased levels of literacy and increased appreciation of the province’s rich and diverse publishing culture.

The week highlights the BC publishing industry by promoting the diverse and high-calibre work of the publishers and writers in BC. It's a celebration of not only the province's cultural industry, but also of the readers who make BC books and magazines a part of their lives every day.

Prizing:

  • A selection of new BC books from BC publishers
  • A one-year subscription to a BC magazine
