Win a three-show pass to the rEvolver Theatre Festival

Upintheair Theatre presents the 2015 rEvolver Theatre Festival, taking place from May 20 to 31 at The Cultch.

rEvolver presents adventurous, high energy, and sophisticated new work by emerging companies and artists, with everything from musicals to script-based theatre to devised and site-specific works.

2015 productions include the visually stunning Fringe sell-out shadow puppetry of Caws and Effect, local favourite Jeff Gladstone’s cowboy-noir-opera Hell of a Girl, two new creations from SFU’s hotbed of devised theatre (The Peaceful Sea and Mr Snortoose), a political comedy on a future without redheads (Double Recessive), and the farewell performance of near-legendary Vancouver female comedic duo the Progressive Polygamists.

The 2015 National Mainstage throws a spotlight on Toronto’s thriving indy scene. The Art of Building a Bunker (Winner Outstanding Production, Performance, and Direction, SummerWorks 2013) is a gut-busting and controversial take on political correctness. Half Girl/Half Face (Runner-up for Contra Guys Award for New Performance Text) follows a young girl’s struggles to find meaning when her face becomes a globe-spanning meme. And The Stranger by site-specific experts DLT Teatro is a unique roving performance for a single audience member. There are only 72 tickets available for this transformative experience which won Best Production, Ensemble and Direction at last SummerWorks 2014.
