Established in 2011, Lalun is a world music ensemble comprised of Liron Man (Israel/Spain) on hand pans, Lan Tung (Taiwan/Canada) on erhu (Chinese Violin) & vocals, and Jonathan Bernard (Canada) on percussion. With their unique instrumentation and energetic intercultural sound, this international ensemble presents original compositions and new arrangements of traditional music from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, coloured and influenced by its members’ roots in Flamenco, Galician,Taiwanese, Chinese, and Jewish music.

Every Thursday night from now to August 25, 2016, the power-packed Enchanted Evenings Concert Series will turn the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden into a live stage for fiery trumpets and spacious flutes, mainstream jazz and swing tunes, funky folk-jazz and classical piano tunes. The 2016 Enchanted Evenings Concert Series bring Juno and West Coast Music Award winners, Top Twenty Billboard hit-makers and well-loved and popular local bands.

These evenings of exquisite live music will be complemented by gourmet food and drinks and special limited seating atop the ting, the Garden’s mountain top pagoda.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. for exclusive access to the Garden and enjoyment of deluxe picnic dinners, wine, beer, non-alcoholic drinks, and other snacks in the breathtaking sunset Garden.

Concerts will run from 8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. with a brief 15 minute intermission.

Enchanted Evenings runs rain or shine - in the event of inclement weather, the concert moves indoors into the beautiful Hall of One Hundred Rivers and picnics can be enjoyed in our Ming Dynasty indoor halls.
