Annual B.C. Spot Prawn Festival returns to Vancouver

It’s almost spot-prawn season, and if you’re keen on celebrating at the seventh annual B.C. Spot Prawn Festival, plan ahead. The event—which takes place at False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf (near Granville Island) on May 11—features a very popular spot-prawn boil. This year, tickets will only be sold in advance online; none will be available at the door. A $12 ticket (plus service charge) buys a plate that includes boiled prawns, sides, and bread. Those not chowing down can still enjoy cooking demos and buy fresh prawns off the boat for $12 a pound. See chefstablesociety.com/ for info and tickets.
