Outdoor dining events seem to be getting more a more popular in Vancouver, from the new Araxi Longtable dinner in Vancouver to the upcoming Diner en Blanc.

Add another to the list: a longtable dinner at UBC Farm on Thursday, August 15. The event is a fundraiser for Imagine1day, a local charity founded by lululemon's Chip and Shannon Wilson, which works towards better education in Ethiopia.

UBC Farm is supplying all the produce for the event, and West Restaurant chef Quang Dang is overseeing the three-course meal, which will be served with wine.

The event is being organized by Jennifer Savory and Britney Gill, both former interns at Imagine1day. (Savory is currently the community manager for lululemon, and Gill just finished her degree in International Food Systems at UBC.) The pair started Farmacie, which Savory calls a "passion project"; they hope Farmacie's events will connect likeminded people into raising awareness of local food systems. This dinner is Farmacie's first event, and they hope to follow with more in the fall.

Tickets to the August 15 dinner cost $100 each (plus service charge), including wine. All the evening's profits go to charity.
