Lobster is on the menu at elegant Hart House brunch

Spring has sprung, and though it’s a tad chilly to dine outdoors, Hart House Restaurant (6664 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby) is a great place to appreciate the season. Located in a stately Tudor mansion, the restaurant overlooks Deer Lake and offers an à la carte Sunday brunch.

Eggs Benedict—both a classic ($14) and a smoked steelhead version ($16)—is duly represented, but I like the Lobster Knuckle Sandwich ($18), which is also on the weekday lunch menu. Crème fraîche binds the lobster to baby shrimp, apple, and herbs, with everything spilling out of a soft brioche bun.

It’s messy but satisfying with a smartly dressed green salad or fries.
