Heather Hospitality Group closes Judas Goat Taberna, makes way for Gringo
The Heather Hospitality Group has closed one of its Blood Alley restaurants. Judas Goat Taberna, which focused on Spanish-style tapas, has shut down after three years in business.
According to a news release, the 28-seat space has been handed to former HHG employee Shoel Davidson, who is launching a new restaurant concept. Gringo will serve Mexi-Cali-inspired dishes created by chef Karl Gregg of Two Chefs and a Table.
HHG business partners Sean Heather and Scott Hawthorn will retain ownership of the space. The Heather Hospitality Group oversees seven restaurants in the Gastown area, including the Irish Heather Gastropub, Salty Tongue, Salt Tasting Room, Shebeen Whiskey House, Everything Café, Bitter Tasting Room, and Rainier Provisions.
Earlier this year, HHG opened a second Salt Tasting Room location in Kitsilano.
