This Sunday (April 26) is the launch of the new and improved EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival. The fest has gotten a major shakeup this year, with dozens of interactive experiences leading up to the three-day B.C. Place floor show next weekend (May 1 to 3).

While many of the hot tickets are already sold out (such as the collaborative dinner between Susur Lee and Hidekazu Tojo), other rare dining opportunities remain.

For example, at the time of this writing there were still tickets availabe to the May 3 extravaganza at Cioppino's featuring a five-course dinner made by celebrity chef Mark McEwan and Pino Posteraro.

Another blockbuster evening is the Canadian Flavours Gala, which takes place next Thursday (April 30) at the Terminal City Club. Chefs from across the country, including Tofino's acclaimed Wolf in the Fog and Montreal's Restaurant Lemeac, are coming together for this big night. Their dishes will be paired with new releases from the Naramata Bench Wineries Association

This Tuesday (April 28), there are still tickets available for several notable dinners. Chefs Michael Caballo and Tobey Nemeth from Edulis are in town--and while it's difficult to get a seat at that Toronto hot spot, you can try their cooking here.

The pair is teaming up with chef Joël Watanabe for a five-course dinner at Bao Bei that includes wine pairings.

From left, chefs Connie DeSousa, Jessica Pelland, and Andrea Calson.

Also on Tuesday (April 28), chefs Connie DeSousa of Charcut Roast House and Jessica Pelland of Charbar are teaming up with Andrea Carlson at Burdock & Co. These powerhouse chefs are sure to put on an amazing five-course dinner.

On Wednesday (April 29), chef Nick Liu from Toronto’s newly opened Asian brasserie, DaiLo, will be in Vancouver. He'll join acclaimed chef Angus An at Maenam restaurant for an evening showcasing Canada’s modern Asian cuisine.

Some tickets for other dinners and hands-on workshops remain.
