If you’ve ever wondered how hothouse veggies are grown, now’s your chance to find out.

This Saturday (May 23), four members of the B.C. Greenhouse Growers’ Association will be holding open houses at their greenhouses in the Fraser Valley and Surrey. Show up between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. for free tours that show how those bell peppers grow under glass. (Greenhouse vegetables and flowers account for 21 percent of total B.C. agricultural production.)

Participating greenhouses are Calais Farms (34250 Township Line Road, Abbotsford), Peppertree Farms (270 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford), Topgro Farms (1110 264th Street, Aldergrove), and Sunnyside Greenhouses (1119 176th Street, Surrey).
