David Hawksworth opened his eponymous restaurant, Hawksworth (801 West Georgia Street), in 2011, and now he is preparing to launch another.

The chef, who was voted Best Chef by Georgia Straight readers in the 2013 Golden Plate Awards, confirmed the news today (October 3).

“We are very excited to confirm that Hawksworth Restaurant is in the preliminary planning steps of opening a new restaurant. We are currently scouting for the perfect location,” Hawksworth confirmed in a statement to the Straight. “The team's recent trip to New York to cook at the James Beard House has lit a fire of inspiration and provided a multitude of ideas. We look forward to sharing more information in the future.”

Hawksworth recently cooked at New York’s acclaimed James Beard House, presenting a five-course tasting menu that highlights seasonal West Coast cuisine paired with Canadian wines. This menu—which includes Dungeness crab, Pacific sablefish, duck, beef short ribs, and dessert—is available at Hawksworth Restaurant from October 4 to 20 for $98 per person.
