A celebrated Vancouver restaurant is preparing to move to a new location in 2014. After nearly 10 years at 562 Beatty Street, Chambar Restaurant will close its doors May 2014 and reopen at 566 Beatty Street during the summer.

In a news release today (October 17), Chambar Restaurant announced that the new location will be larger and include a 50-seat year-round patio, cocktail bar, lounge area, and 80-seat private dining room. The restaurant co-owned by husband and wife team Nico and Karri Schuermans will also be extending its hours, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays, and brunch and dinner on weekends.

Chambar Restaurant was awarded Best Restaurant Overall in the Georgia Straight’s 2013 Golden Plates and placed amongst top restaurants in five other categories. Its sister restaurant Café Medina (556 Beatty Street) won the Best Breakfast and Best Brunch categories and its associated cooking school, The Dirty Apron (540 Beatty Street) was voted Best Place for Casual Cooking Classes.
