FarmFolk CityFolk throws 20th anniversary party on October 24
FarmFolk CityFolk, the local non-profit supporting sustainable agriculture and local food, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
This Thursday (October 24), they're throwing a party open to the community to celebrate.
It takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. at Van Dusen’s Botanical Gardens' new carbon- and energy-neutral visitor's centre.
The evening will include canapés prepared by chef Dave Carlson, made from ingredients sourced from his Common Ground Farm. Other local products featured include Hornby Island oysters, Oyama sausages, and Golden Ears Cheesecrafters' cheese. There will also be beer from Spinnakers Gastro Brewpub, organic wine from Summerhill Pyramid Winery, and beverages from Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery, Salt Spring Coffee and Namasthe Tea.
FarmFolk CityFolk's founder, Herb Barbolet, will speak on the past, present and future of the organization.
Tickets cost $40 (including food and one beverage); they can be purchased here.
