Restaurants dim lights for Candlelight Conservation Dinner on October 24
Dinner by candlelight is never a bad idea. This Thursday (October 24) there’s a great excuse to indulge in a romantic meal: it’s B.C. Hydro’s annual Candlelight Conservation Dinner. Over two dozen Vancouver restaurants are turning down the lights to raise awareness of energy consumption and offering dining specials to boot.
A good choice? The new 1789 Restaurant and Lounge in the old Delilah’s space at 1789 Comox Street exudes charm with its cozy red velvet booths—two of which are shrouded in velvet curtains—and it’s offering 15 percent of food that night.
You can also sink into a plush red booth at Bacchus Restaurant and Lounge in the Wedgewood Hotel. This romantic spot at 845 Hornby Street is offering a free dessert with the purchase of an appetizer and entrée on October 24.
For something more casual but still with that oh-so-flattering lighting, Las Margaritas at 1999 West 4th Avenue is offering 15 percent off its Mexican food. Or, all the Banana Leaf locations will give you a free appetizer with the purchase of an entree that night.
