Pop the cork with a non-alcoholic sparkling juice on New Year's Eve

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Popping the cork is part of the fun of drinking Champagne, so wouldn’t it be nice if there was a little ceremony for nonalcoholic beverages too?

Guests who aren’t drinking alcohol, including children, will enjoy Val de France sparkling juices, which feature caged corks instead of twist-off caps. Imported from France, the juices are certified organic and made with real fruit—apple, pear, raspberry, or pomegranate.

The pear version is especially delicious: crisp and intense but not too sweet. Find them at Meinhardt Fine Foods (3002 Granville Street), where a 750-millilitre bottle sells for $6.99.

For a great cocktail try mixing Japanese plum wine, a dash of organic sake with the sparking pomegranate-add a cherry and it's a cherry blossom in a glass.
      Yumm-Happy New Year!
