Vancouver Craft Beer Week 2014 tickets released

      Vancouver Craft Beer Week, which runs from May 30 to June 7, 2014, has just released its lineup of events. For the fifth annual festival, there are nine signature events and 12 feature events. Over 60 breweries are participating.

      Here are a few events that immediately stand out:

      Saturday, May 31      

      Rare Brews & BBQ at Darby's Pub features limited releases or never-before-seen beers from 10 local breweries, including Dead Frog, Parallel 49, Hoyne, Moon Under Water, and more. 

      Sunday, June 1          

      Hoppapalooza V takes place at the Alibi Room from 5 p.m. and will likely sell out quickly is already sold out. Craft Beer Bingo at Doolins Irish Pub at 7 pm puts a fun twist on bingo with 25 1-ounce tasters glasses on the board.

      Monday, June 2         

      Hyper Local at Merchants Oyster Bar starts at 6 p.m. and offers six beer and six courses for $66, with offerings from Storm Brewing, Powell Street Craft Brewery, and Parallel 49 Brewing Company.

      Tuesday, June 3        

      Ten Vancouver bartenders compete at Blackbird Public House & Oyster Bar from 6 p.m. to make a beer cocktail in the Battle of the Bartenders Beer Cocktail Competition III. 

      Wednesday, June 4   

      Portland Craft hosts PDX Brewers Delight at 5 p.m., when brewers from the Rose City take over the taps. These include Ben Love of Gigantic, Ben Edmunds of Breakside, Alex Ganum of Upright, and more.

      Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7          

      The signature VCBW Beer Festival tasting event takes place over two days at the event grounds of the Olympic Village from 4 pm to 9 pm on Friday, and 2 to 9 p.m. on Saturday. Over 60 craft breweries are participating in the event, which is presented by CRAFT Beer Market.
