In recognition of World Autism Day (April 2), Central City Brewers + Distillers has launched its annual IPA for Autism program, which will benefit autism research at Simon Fraser University.

As part of the program, Central City will donate $2 from the sale of every specially marked six-pack of 355-ml cans and 25-cents from every 453-ml can to autism research. The launch of the program also coincides with Autism Awareness Month, which is celebrated in April.

Since 2012, the Surrey-based brewery has raised a total of $270,000 for autism studies that help improve the development of children diagnosed with the condition. It has also contributed funds to the Canucks Autism Network and UBC research that looks at the genetic connection with autism.

This year, Central City will donate $100,000 to autism research at SFU.

You can find Central City’s specially marked Red Racer IPAs at B.C. Liquor Stores and select private liquor stores across the city from now until the end of April.
