In celebration of Thai New Year, Vancouver-based coffee company Doi Chaang Coffee Co. is offering commuters freshly brewed cups of Joe for 22-cents a pop at Burrard Station (635 Burrard Street).

From 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. between April 5 and 7, Vancouverites can try the company’s organic, fair-trade Social Medium (a medium blend) and Hardwired (a dark roast blend) Arabica coffee in 16-oz cups. The coffee will be available while supplies last.

Described as “beyond fair-trade”, Doi Chaang sources its products from the Doi Chang village in Northern Thailand, where coffee farmers own 50 percent of the company and earn 50 percent of profits.

The company hopes that the pop-up, which is hosted in part by the Vanguard low-cost cafe, will bring attention to the “beyond fair-trade” concept while offering commuters the chance to enjoy a cup of premium, organic-certified coffee at a reasonable price.
