Meal ticket: Burrrowing Owl wine tasting and dinner

      The Boathouse Kitsilano (1305 Arbutus Street) will be hosting a Burrowing Owl wine tasting event on April 27 (7 to 10 p.m.).

      Guests can indulge in a wide selection of wines from the Oliver-based winery, including its 2014 Chardonnay, 2012 Merlot, and 2015 Pinot Gris.

      The wines will be paired with a six-course tasting menu prepared by Boathouse executive chef Vincent Wong.

      Event-goers will feast on butter-poached oysters, hot-rock-seared venison, and dried-cherry-and-peppercorn braised beef cheeks.

      The meal ends with a sweet note—blue cheese cheesecake with wild blueberry compote and salted peanut brittle.

      Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online.
