As the Yaletown Farmers Market comes to an end, consumers will be happy to know that the popular destination for fresh and local products is just moving four blocks north.

Beginning this Thursday (June2), Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza (650 Hamiltion Street) will become home to the new Downtown Farmers Market.

Opening festivities at the new location will take place at 2 p.m., which will include ribbon cutting and speeches from Vancouver Farmers Market chair Carla Shore, and Charles Gaultier, President and CEO of Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association.

Representatives from Bentall Kennedy, downtown market sponsor, will also be present to open the new farmers market.

Shoppers will be able to enjoy free donuts from Cartems Donuterie at the opening day event.

The new Downtown Farmers Market will offer the same vendor line-up, hours, and easy access to transit. Shoppers will be able to find fresh fruits and veggies, meat and poultry, baked goods, artisan food, and more.
