Beta5 Chocolates rolls out new summer collection
Known for its inventive chocolate and pastry flavours, Beta5 Chocolates (413 Industrial Avenue) will be launching its highly anticipated line of summer treats tomorrow (July 23).
Although not frozen treats, its new chocolate flavours—including root beer float, cucumber cooler, raspberry lemonade, and strawberry daiquiri—align perfectly with sweets that keep you cool during the hot season.
As soon as you take a bite into its éclairs, expect old-school tastes to evoke nostalgic flashbacks to roasting marshmallows on the campfire or munching on peanut butter and celery sticks during summer camp days.
If you haven’t guessed by now, its new éclair flavours range from “s’mores” to “ants on a log” to classic Neapolitan that even comes with a mini chocolate cone.
As for the cream puffs, think refreshing drinks with a twist. The new cherry cola cream puff is filled with botanical cola custard, Okanagan cherry jelly, whipped vanilla ganache, and topped with fizzy cherry chocolate and an amarena cherry.
For those who are wondering what kind of strange delicacy the black blobs are, it’s actually a piña colada cream puff infused with charcoal. Made with coconut ash choux, pineapple curd, whipped coconut and lime ganache, and topped with black chocolate rings—it’s definitely a unique treat.
Word of mouth has it that charcoal-infused desserts will be the next big food trend in the city—so don’t be surprised if you stumble upon charcoal-flavoured ice cream or cheesecake in the coming months.
