An apple a day doesn’t keep fruit lovers away from the UBC Apple Festival, which always draws big crowds. The annual event takes place this weekend (October 18 and 19) with over 24,400 kilograms of apples for sale and more than 70 varieties displayed on-site.

Highlights include watching demonstrations of grafting and cider pressing, and activities in the tasting tent where, for $5, you can taste new and heritage varieties.

Entry costs $4 per person, with kids 12 years and under free. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day and entry includes admission to the UBC Botanical Garden. For details, see the UBC Botanical Garden website.
