If you’re a true potato chip fanatic, then you must have heard about (and participated in) Lay’s “World Flavourites” contest a few months back.

For those who need a refresher, the potato chip brand had Canadians vote for their favourite pre-picked flavours inspired by global influences.

There were three categories to choose from: Street Food, Home Cooked Classics, and Iconic Ingredients.

The votes have been tallied, and below are the three winning flavours with a description of what chip-lovers can expect:

• Lay’s Bacon Poutine: a delicious combination of gooey cheese curds, rich gravy, and smoky bacon flavours, inspired by Canada (who else?!).

• Lay’s Thai Sweet Chili: a tantalizing mix of sweet and spicy with aromatic and chili pepper flavours, inspired by Thailand.

• Lay’s Cheese & Onion:  a blend of sharp cheddar cheese with savory onion, inspired by the UK. 

Some of the other global flavours that didn’t make winning list include Chinese-inspired hot pot, Indian-inspired magic masala, as well as chicken & waffles.

The internationally flavoured chip launched yesterday (August 8), and will only be available for a limited time.
