There's no cessation to the frozen-treat explosion in Vancouver, and more companies are getting into this sweet market. Here are three more to take note of.

      Everybody say Yeh!

Yeh! Frozen Yogurt & Café is continuing its cross-Canada expansion and opening its first Vancouver franchise in the West End at 985 Denman Street.

      Yeh! Frozen Yogurt

The Quebec-based chain offers self-serve frozen yogurt, with sixty rotating toppings (including fruit, sauces, cereal, and more) and waffle bowls and cones.

There are also crepes, shakes, protein shakes, smores, and coffee.

The company has locations across Canada, as well as in Shanghai and Beirut.

      Felines and freezies?

Everybody loves kittens. (We sure do.) And everyone screams for ice cream.

So what else would be better than to combine the two?

      Fluffy Kittens

At the new artisanal ice cream parlour Fluffy Kittens in Chinatown, you won't find any actual kittens. No, this isn't an ice-cream version of Catfé.

What you will find at this spot, opened by Bioéthique Spa owner Claudine Michaud, are local and B.C. frozen treats from the likes of Johnny's Pops, Nice Vice, Artisto Gelato, and more.

There's everything from popsicles and freezies to sundaes and ice-cream sandwiches.

You can grab scoops of intriguing flavours like maple fennel, Vietnamese coffee, raspberry lemonade, mojito, banana walnut, and more. There are also vegan and gluten-free options to check out as well.

No, there aren't any cats on the premises at Fluffy Kittens so you don't have to worry about this type of situation happening.

      Freeze frame

Liquid nitrogen–frozen ice cream has been a trendy development in the local ice-cream scene.

There's Mister in Yaletown and LIK N2 on Robson near BC Place.

A new spot is opening in Kerrisdale.

MagiCream Ice Cream Lab is setting up shop at 2009 West 41st Avenue, offering ice cream frozen with liquid nitrogen. Its grand opening is on August 27. Here's our interview with one of the co-owners who talks about their new shop, which offers over 40 flavours and over 40 toppings.
