Tim Hortons to open in Great Britain

In a press release that will have expats foaming at the mouth, Tim Hortons has announced that it's going to set up shop in the U.K. in the near future.

Hot on the heels of a proposed expansion into the Philippines last month, the classic Canadian chain is, according to Tim Hortons President Elías Díaz Sensé, “look[ing] forward to bringing some of our signature products to Great Britain and helping our partners build brand awareness and open restaurants to welcome new Guests.”

Although the release suggests that the U.K. is a “natural fit for the brand” because of its “strong and growing coffee culture”—name us one person who goes to Timmy's because they actually love the taste of their beverages—the franchise’s venture onto British soil will come as a welcome relief to those sick of U.K. staples like Starbucks, Costa, and, worse still, Greggs.

We’re already excited at the prospect of double-doubling on vacation. Plus, after dealing with the fallout from Brexit, it's only fair that the U.K. gets some good news.
