There’s a new way to enjoy frozen treats inside a supermarket, and it’s not by heading over to the frozen aisle for traditional ice-cream brands.

720 Sweets & Etc., a local dessert shop that offers soft-serve ice cream, signature drinks, and other treats, will be opening inside T&T Supermarket at Metropolis at Metrotown (4700 Kingsway, Burnaby) next Wednesday (November 16).

Known for its soft-serve ice cream decorated with nitrogen smoke that features Asian-inspired flavours, it’s not a surprise to see the business open inside the largest Asian supermarket chain across Canada.

The Asian grocery giant has 10 locations in British Columbia, five in Alberta, and seven in Ontario. According to a press statement, 720 Sweets will be the first dessert establishment in western Canada to open in a major supermarket.

The dessert shop has plans to open at every T&T Supermarket in the country, and the opening of its first supermarket location in Burnaby marks the beginning of a long expansion.

720 Sweet’s flagship location is in the Kitsilano neighbourhood, with a second storefront that recently opened up in Richmond.
