If you’re looking for a reason to dine out at the end of March, here's a worthy cause.

Dining Out for Life has announced that it will return to Vancouver on March 30, when an estimated 100 participating restaurants across the Lower Mainland will donate a portion of their sales to aid people living with HIV/AIDS.

The longstanding international fundraiser’s Vancouver/Whistler arm has raised more than $3 million since its launch in 1994. Proceeds benefit A Loving Spoonful, a local nonprofit that provides meals, nutritional counselling, and meal planning for those affected by HIV/AIDS in Metro Vancouver.

So far, over 35 restaurants from Whistler to White Rock are confirmed to be participating in the event. These include Bodega on Main, Timber, the Union, and all five of Burgoo Bistro's locations. Lucky's Doughnuts will also be crafting a limited-edition Dining Out for Life doughnut for the occasion, with 100 percent of sales going toward the cause.

More eateries will be added to the participant list in the coming weeks. Last year, more than 100 restaurants took part in the initiative.
