If you’re a curry fan, then you’ll want to mark a certain food event in your calendar.

The fourth annual Curry Cup competition returns to the city on March 6 at Heritage Hall (3102 Main Street) from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Presented by the Chef’s Table Society of B.C., eight local chefs will be creating various tasty curry dishes in a bid to win the ultimate curry cup championship title.

      This year’s competing chefs include:

      • Keith Pears, E.B.O
      • TeeJay Conwi, Spencer's
      • Dawn Doucette, Earl's
      • Mathew Koyanagi, Savoury City Catering
      • Neil Taylor, Espana
      • Colin Johnson, Bestie
      • Adam Perrier, Cafe Medina
      • Felix Zhou, Heritage Asian Eatery

The Curry Cup will be hosted by Fred Lee once again, and the panel of judges who will be critiquing the creations includes Roger Ma (Boulevard Kitchen and Oyster Bar; last year’s Curry Cup champion) and Vikram Vij (Vij’s), among others.

Tickets ($65 per person) include eight samples of curry creations, beer from R&B Brewing, wine from Evolve Cellars, cocktails, and gelato from Bella Gelateria.

Parts of the ticket proceeds will go toward Project Chef, a non-profit program that partners with Vancouver School Board to teach children about healthy food choices.
