If you're on the hunt for more health-oriented food options to ramp up your nutritional intake, here are three spots that have opened up over the past few months that may make your efforts easier.

      Smoothie central

As we previously mentioned, Victoria's Health was gearing up to launch its third location near the Broadway and Cambie intersection at 562 Broadway, which opened its doors earlier this month.

The 2,200-square-foot premises offers the same menu and items as their other two locations in North Vancouver (1637 Lonsdale Avenue) and downtown Vancouver, including smoothies, fresh cold-pressed juice, coffee, and açai bowls, as well as health-related and natural beauty products.

Take note, smoothie fans: as a promotional special for their opening, all smoothies and juices are only $5 each until the end of April.

A grand opening will be held in May (the specific date is yet to be determined).

      Getting the good stuff

The Good Stuff opened up a storefront at 4515 West 10th Avenue in January.

The company, launched by former UBC basketball players Tonner Jackson and Michael Steele, delivers ready-to-blend smoothies, which provide all ingredients except the liquids. They use local, organic ingredients from places such as UBC Farms, Fresh Roots Farms, and Discovery Organics.

      The Good Stuff

Smoothie options include the anti-inflammatory Wise Ninja (one of their only selections that is non-vegan), antioxidant-boosting Kitsilano Sunrise (with carrot, chard, Brazil nuts, and more), or post-workout muscle builder Diesel Monster (with yam, banana, kale, peanut butter, cacao nibs, and more).

Earlier this month, they also revamped their Thunderbird smoothie to combine blueberries, pear, vanilla protein, and lime.

There are also four-packs of raw, whole-food power balls.

While you can drop by their Point Grey location, they also deliver (in insulated, reusable bins with ice packs) to most places in the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Delta, White Rock, and Langley.

      Fit food

Over in Kitsilano, Turf opened up in February at 2041 West 4th Avenue (in the former location of Hell's Kitchen).

This new fitness and health hub includes a workout studio, shop, and kitchen and coffee bar.

The studio offers a variety of workshops and classes, including  boxing, strength, cardio, and even meditation, while the shop sells merchandise, such as clothing, accessories, and home items.

      Turf

If you're need of refuelling after a workout (or just plain hungry), the kitchen menu offers toasts, salads, smoothies, juice, baked goods, coffee, tea, beer, and wine. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free selections are available.

Bowls range from granola (with oats, pistachio, pumpkin seeds, fruit, coconut yogurt, and more) or red lentil grits (with beet hummus, oats, avocado, and more) to kimchi 'n' mash (with sweet potato, turnip, carrot, squash, and more)
