Last year’s inaugural Vancouver Cheese and Meat Festival was an instant hit—thousands of tickets sold out as soon as they were released.

The highly anticipated food event returns to the city on September 30 at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews), marking a departure from its previous location at Terminal City Club.

The festival will once again feature local and international cheeses and meats, as well as an assortment of condiments—think pickles, nuts, mustard seeds, toasted bread, and more. Last year’s event showcased everything from water buffalo cheese to crocodile meat to salted caramel chocolate.

Guests will be able to enjoy their sweet and savoury items with a variety of beverages, including wine, beer, cider, and likely even the Canadian favourite—Caesars.

When you’ve had enough of the cheese and charcuterie, desserts such as chocolates, macarons, and coffee will be available to end off the event on a sweet note.

Tickets ($55 to $125) go on sale next Thursday (June 15) at 9 a.m. Depending on which type of ticket you purchase, you’ll be able to have access to either an afternoon or evening tasting session (2.5 hours each), a tasting seminar, or both. Tasting session tickets include a wooden charcuterie board (for your cheese and meat) and a tasting glass.

The Cheese and Meat Festival also takes place in Victoria, and recently launched its first event in Seattle.
