There’s a large entertainment district in the heart of downtown Vancouver that is nearing completion, and its developer has unveiled a line-up of food and drink establishments that will be offered once it opens this fall.

Parq Vancouver—a $640 million entertainment destination being built next to B.C. Place by Paragon Development—will boast of eight unique restaurants and lounges (a significant and sizeable addition to the city’s food and bar scene).

Food-lovers can expect to taste everything from farm-to-table cuisines to comfort grub, Southeast Asian-flavours to Chinese fare, and Pacific Northwest seafood, among others.

Those who love drinks will be happy to know that local and international beers, wines, signature cocktails, high-end premium spirits, loose-leaf teas, bubble tea, and speciality coffees will be served at the eight different food and beverage venues.

The masterminds behind the culinary and libation portfolio at Parq are restaurateurs Elizabeth Blau and Canadian chef Kim Canteenwalla of Blau + Associates. The husband-and-wife duo is most notably known for working on acclaimed restaurants (Andiron Steak & Sea, Honey Salt, Buddy V’s Ristorante) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“British Columbia’s natural resources are amazing. The ocean and forests are rife with ingredients to work with, and the temperate climate means everything is fresh and flavourful,” said Blau, in a press statement. “Vancouver is known globally as an amazing food city, and during my time here I’ve come to understand why.”

“This region is so multicultural…there are influences ranging from Chinese to Japanese to Indian and beyond,” said Canteenwalla, in a press statement. “Perhaps because multicultural cuisine is so accessible, diners here are incredibly adventurous. There is truly something for everyone here.”

Parq Vancouver will also be home to the relocated 72,000-square-foot Edgewater Casino, two luxury and lifestyle hotels (JW Marriott and the Douglas), a 30,000-square-foot rooftop park, and 60,000 square feet of event and meeting space.

The entire entertainment complex covers 775,000 square feet, so it only seems appropriate for the property to boast a handful of eateries and bars.

Here’s the full list of the eight restaurants and lounges set to open come fall.

      Honey Salt

Located on Parq Vancouver’s first floor, adjacent to the JW Marriott lobby and accessible via Pacific Boulevard, Honey Salt celebrates the bounty of British Columbia with regionally inspired, farm-to-table cuisines from locally sourced ingredients. Boasting a lively bar of regional beers, spirits, and inspired cocktails, and serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner (as well as brunch and afternoon tea), Honey Salt is a welcoming, comfortable restaurant infused with neighborhood ambiance.

      BC Kitchen

Offering high quality and creative versions of classic bar “comfort” foods, BC Kitchen is where guests can enjoy their favourite dishes – with a twist. Located on the second floor (casino floor), with an exterior entrance leading directly to BC Place, BC Kitchen boasts an extensive collection of local, regional, and international beer, and is poised to become a top pre and post event destination in Downtown Vancouver.

      Mrkt East

Inspired by Singapore night markets, Mrkt East is an innovative and immersive dining experience featuring a menu of Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Thai, Singaporean, and Vietnamese favourites. Guests arriving for lunch or dinner will engage with cooks as their dishes are prepared, and the restaurant’s coffee bar will serve a variety of specialty coffees, bubble teas, espresso and pastries. Mrkt East is located on the second floor (casino floor).

      The Victor

Opening this winter, The Victor boasts a vibrant energy that echoes and amplifies the city of Vancouver with a contemporary and seasonally inspired menu of Pacific Northwest seafood and steaks. Nestled alongside the sixth-floor rooftop park, The Victor showcases unparalleled views of the water and downtown skyline. With a centerpiece sushi bar, expansive wine selection and a cutting-edge cocktail menu, The Victor will be a coveted dining and nightlife destination for guests and locals.

      1886

Drawing its name from the year Vancouver’s Chinatown first emerged, 1886 offers an inspired menu of dishes from four culinary regions of China: Canton, Szechuan, Hunan, and Shanghai, with an emphasis on Cantonese cuisine. Located on the third floor (high limit gaming floor), 1886 is an elegant and modern dining experience, featuring a live saltwater seafood tank stocked with local and international varieties of white fish and shellfish.

      Centre Bar

Accented by a spectacular glass chandelier, Centre Bar serves as the social hub of Parq Vancouver’s casino and a comfortable place to meet and converse. Guests can choose from a selection of signature cocktails, high-end premium spirits, and wine by the glass while observing the action on the gaming floor.

      D/6 Bar & Lounge

An indoor/outdoor sky bar located on Parq Vancouver’s sixth floor spilling out on the rooftop park, D/6 is much more than a lobby bar serving the DOUGLAS, an Autograph Collection Hotel. With its inviting fireplace, bookcases, pool table, and a menu of handcrafted cocktails comprised of top shelf liquors and spirits, D/6 is a nightlife destination within a destination perched high above the city.

      Lotus Whiskey and Tea Lounge

An evolving experience located on Parq Vancouver’s third floor (high limit gaming floor), Lotus Whiskey and Tea Lounge serves a variety of high quality, exotic, and internationally brewed loose-leaf teas during the day in a stylish and serene space. As day becomes night, Lotus presents an impressive selection of reserved whiskeys, scotch, and bourbon that will be a go-to for guests with a sophisticated palate.

Parq Vancouver will be an entertainment destination that includes two hotels and a casino.
