Get on down to Beaucoup Bakery & Café quickly, before New Year’s resolution guilt kicks in, because Jackie Ellis’s croissants, cookies, and bars are divine. The just-opened spot at 2150 Fir Street is a bright, charming 16-seat room where Ellis works her French techniques on North American and French treats. Sandwiches will be added to the menu later, but for now just grab a 49th Parallel coffee along with a palm-sized peanut butter sandwich cookie filled with a ridiculously silky salted peanut butter cream ($3.75 each). One is large enough to share if you must, and it’s worth every single calorie.
