Bottleneck brings forth more food choices on Granville Street

Late this afternoon, the comfy tavern underneath the Commodore Ballroom will unveil its new menu, which includes some heartier selections.

Bottleneck will offer crispy duck confit, a Pemberton Valley beef burger (with bacon), and home-made fennel sausage pizza.

This is in addition to smaller share plates—including fried pickles, halibut tacos, and crispy risotto rice—for those who want to nibble on goodies while enjoying Bottleneck's signature "English Garden" cocktail (or wine or a Kronenbourg, for that matter).

Live Nation opened Bottleneck at 870 Granville Street earlier this year for those interested in food and a drink before or after seeing a show or sporting event in the downtown core.

“It was our storage area for 10 years, and now we’ve turned it into the best little secret in Vancouver,” Live Nation's Geoff Robins told me when I dropped by a while ago.

Open from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. from Tuesday through Saturday, Bottleneck features music by local and international artists, vinyl nights, and pizza-and-a-movie nights. Details are available @BottleneckVan.

You can check out the interior in the photos below.

Once again, I'm confused - is it a bar or isn't it? Can you just stop in for a drink or two, or will you be hassled to order food every two minutes?
